Costumes
We have chosen these costumes as we want the characters of James and Sophie to look like regular teenagers so they will be wearing normal clothing like jeans, a top and a jacket to fit this criteria. When in the detective's room, James will be wearing darker plainer clothing to look more formal and fit the tone of the scene. The detective himself will be wearing a shirt, tie and blazer to look like a professional police detective. This is conventional of the thriller genre because in most other thrillers the detectives/police wear smart clothing, for example in The Silence of the Lambs. It is also conventional in thrillers that most of the other characters wear casual clothing which will also appeal to our target audience and make them more relatable as the young people of our target audience wear clothing similar to that of the characters.

Changes to Casting
We have decided to make some changes to our casting due to the fact that Sarah Broadbent will be unable to film when it is convenient and according to our shooting schedule. We decided that the film may work better with a male protagonist as this is a convention for films of this genre. As a result, we have changed the main character of Jennifer Beckett to a 17 year old boy called James Beckett who will be played by Sam Witheridge.

Casting
We have decided to cast myself and Chris as Sophie and Detective Ryan as it will be convenient for filming and we both fit the appearance, age and gender of our respective characters. We have cast Sarah as the lead character Jennifer as she is a drama A-Level student so will make the character seem more convincing to the audience.
